I loved the story showing how tech is not only about the big things, but how important it is to take care of the small details. And I loved seeing to photos... Mike

AgTech is a great field to be in, not just because there are so many ways where technology can make a difference, but by doing so you’re helping the environment and feeding the world. I grew up in the Bavarian countryside, ad even though my industries are different (aerospace/defense) I still have a soft spot for farming. Optimizing resource use through ML and automation sounds like a great idea, and it’s easy to see why you decided to work with them.

Also, love the photos, looks like a truly beautiful place. And I’m still amazed that you have a live peacock!

Thanks for sharing, Norman!

Hi Benjamin, I'm in the same situation as you. My industries are generally software/ai but I am helping this venture because it has the capability to be a major disruption for the entire agriculture industry. And of course it involves deep AI. Our peacock, "Pete," is practically a family member. He's wild, and has survived escaping dog, coyote, and other animal attacks. Peacocks were also an inspiration for my brother's ceramic art glazes http://www.artfromiraland.com. So they became very meaningful to me after he died. In fact, when we first came to the ranch after we bought it, Pete met us at the gate, and we walked together to the house. Just incredible. Almost every morning he meets me at the door, and we walk together to the barn, where I feed him.

Hi Norman, Pete sounds like a real character! Surviving all those encounters is no small feat, what a fighter! It's not common for a peacock to be so comfortable around humans, especially after surviving encounters with predators. Having such a special connection to him, especially after your brother's passing, must be incredibly meaningful. No wonder he feels like family.
